Cancellations and refunds
Last updated 25 August 2026
This is the cancellation and refund policy that also sits inside our Terms of booking. It is repeated here so it is easy to find.
Who refunds you
The company that took your payment. Bookings billed in rupees: AIRBOOKING TRAVEL AND TOURS PRIVATE LIMITED, Kozhikode, Kerala. All other bookings: AirBooking Technology LLC, Dubai. The name is on your confirmation and invoice.
If your employer, travel agency or travel management company paid, the refund goes back to it under its agreement with us. Your travel administrator can tell you how it reaches you.
The supplier decides what is refundable
We are a booking agent. The airline, hotel or activity operator sets the fare or rate rules, and those rules decide whether a booking can be cancelled and how much comes back. Some fares and rates are fully refundable, some partly, some not at all. We show the rules before you pay and again on your confirmation. Read them before you confirm.
We pass through what the supplier allows and add no penalties of our own.
How to cancel or change
Ask in the conversation, or open the booking under your trips in the app and choose cancel or change. A cancellation takes effect when we receive it. Suppliers apply their own cut-offs: many airline fares cannot be cancelled inside a set number of hours before departure, and activities typically become non-refundable 24 to 72 hours before the start time.
Fees
The supplier's change or cancellation fee, and any fare difference on a change, are set by the supplier and shown in the rules for your booking.
AirBooking's service fee for a change or cancellation is [AMOUNT or NONE]. Our original service fee on the booking is [refundable / not refundable] once the booking is confirmed.
Taxes and airport charges the supplier refunds are refunded to you.
Seats, extra baggage, meals and other add-ons follow the supplier's rules for that add-on. Most are non-refundable once bought, even when the fare is refundable.
A spelling correction to a name is a change and the airline's correction fee applies. Replacing one passenger with another is not a change most airlines allow; it means cancelling under the fare rules and booking again at the current price.
No-shows and partly used tickets
If you do not travel and did not cancel, the supplier's no-show rule applies, and most no-shows are non-refundable. Unused sectors of a partly used ticket are refunded only where the fare rules allow, and rarely pro rata.
When the airline changes or cancels your flight
We pass on the options the airline gives us, an alternative flight or a refund, as soon as we have them. Where the law requires the airline to refund or compensate you, for example under the DGCA's passenger rules in India, that law applies and nothing here limits it. Compensation for delay or cancellation comes from the airline.
If the supplier stops operating
If an airline, hotel or operator becomes insolvent or stops operating, your claim is against that supplier, its insurer or your card issuer. We refund whatever the supplier returns to us, give you the booking records for a claim, and tell you how to raise a chargeback where one is possible. We do not underwrite a supplier's failure. A trip made of separate tickets is more than one contract, so a failure on one ticket creates no refund on the other.
When we cancel
If we have to cancel a booking through no fault of yours, because the price was obviously wrong or ticketing failed, we refund everything you paid for it. If we could not complete a booking in the first place, you are not charged and any authorisation on your card is released; banks can take a few days to clear it from your statement.
How and when the money comes back
Refunds go to the original payment method only. We initiate a refund within 7 working days of the supplier confirming the refundable amount. Your bank then typically takes 5 to 10 working days to show it; some banks and some international cards take longer.
Where the supplier itself is slow, and some airlines take weeks to release funds, we tell you the expected timeline and pay you when the money reaches us. If a refund is later than we said, tell us and we will chase it.
